Despite the protests from his wife and the rest of the clan, Namir accepts the proposal and ventures to Ataxata to sign the agreement. 'The Kingdom of Durundal series is far more than the single genre of fantasy. Rather, it blends into a prestigious crossroads where fantasy meets reality, and the surreal meets the sublime. I wanted to write a series that everyone could read, and I'm happy to provide an exciting, epic story that a wide variety of ages will enjoy.'

What book do you think everyone should read?
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley - she was only 16 when she wrote it in 1817. Amazing achievement,. No online help then or agents and editors to help her. Truly inspirational and a magnificent piece of wok.

How long have you been writing?
10 years.

What kind of research do you do before you begin writing a book?
A lot of research because my books do contain a lot of historical facts - ancient mythology, sword and sorcery, battles, apothecary (herbal medicines), spirituality, castle life, clan life.

Do you see writing as a career?
Yes.

What do you think about the current publishing market?
I think that self publishing is the way to go. I believe that the traditional publishing houses make it too selective, with no rights, and will slowly push themselves out of business. Unless you get with one of the big five, you are doing the marketing yourself anyway. With so many outlets to choose from; Apple, Kobo, etc, I do think the Indie writer has a growing advantage over the traditionally published author. I see many consumers purchasing online, which means the high-street bookstore will become obsolete. Indeed many are closing already as book buyers go to Amazon and other online bookstores to purchase their books at a more realistic price. The ebook seems to dominate the market, as does Amazon, which makes this the best way to publish a book. I used to think that a traditionally published book was the only way to get noticed … but not now, because I enjoy the process that I am currently in. I enjoy the learning, engaging with other authors on facebook, getting feedback from the many available groups, and I feel proud to say that this is totally my own work.

Do you prefer to write in silence or with noise? Why?
Silence, because I am easily distracted.

Do you write one book at a time or do you have several going at a time?
One book at a time. I cannot multi task.

If you could have been the author of any book ever written, which book would you choose?
Any of my top ten.

Pen or type writer or computer?
Computer.

Tell us about a favorite character from a book.
I do admire Ajeya from A Hare in the Wilderness. I admire her tenacity and determination. That even with a facial disfigurement, it does not hold her back. In fact it’s the opposite, she is more determined then ever to succeed and become the best person that she can possibly be. And that is one of the messages in my books; it doesn’t matter what life throws at you, or what challenge you face in a day or a year, or in your life - embrace it, learn from it and grow with added strength.

What makes a good story?
Making it believable.

How long on average does it take you to write a book?
2 months to write. 10 months to edit.

Do you believe in writer’s block?

Only when I’m answering these type of questions.
