By day she is a Registered Radiologic Technologist taking pictures of mangled bones and by night she writes about all the bizarre situations her characters get themselves into while she was away. She is a Second Degree Blackbelt and can’t write a story without at least one fight scene in it.

GUEST POST
As we approach the end of the protagonist-led fantasy trilogy, Hunters of Infinity, readers are wondering if this is the last we will be seeing of Jessop? If so, what is author Ryan Wieser working on next?

The entire experience of writing this story has gone by in the blink of an eye, as clichéd as that is to say, it’s simply true. Even though the last book is done, I honestly can’t say if this is it for Jessop, Falco, and Kohl (if they all survive to the end of the last book, that is…).
If you love your characters it feels impossible to say that you’re done with them forever. And I love these characters. They’re crazy, impulsive, and immature. They make the same mistakes over and over. They are blinded by their motives. But they all end up on the same quest for redemption, reaffirming their love and loyalty along the way. For me, the trilogy was always about the personal journey and relationships of these characters. It is difficult to know for sure if their stories are completely done. Maybe it’s their time. At this point, I can’t say for sure what will happen.
Like my main characters, the trilogy is imperfect, but with each book, it developed more and more. I definitely feel like I had the opportunity to learn a great deal and to exercise new skills with each installment, and in some ways, that’s what Jessop, Falco, and Kohl do – with each book, they learn and they change. I do think that perhaps with a trilogy, you have more room to explore and more pages to fill. It all depends on the way you write, how much of your plot is planned in advance, how many pages you intend to utilize to tell your story… There are a lot of factors to consider. Oddly, I wasn’t necessarily trying to write a trilogy when I started writing the story; I was more focused on the characters, their relationships, histories, and individual profiles. If anything, the trilogy helped provide some structure and give the overarching story a beginning, middle, and an end.
In terms of next projects, I am actually already busy working on my next book, a medieval-esque fantasy novel. I learned a lot from the trilogy. I got some amazing reviews and a lot of feedback, some wonderful and some less so, but all of it served a purpose. My flaws as a novice writer have been highlighted, the interests of my readers have been made known, and the path forward has been laid out with hope and determination. This next book is really quite different from the Hunters of Infinity series. While it is also an action packed fantasy led by a strong female protagonist, it’s set in a different world, a different time, and supported by an entourage of different characters. I’m excited to see where these new characters go. I am committing to them with the same passion and care I did for Jessop and her leading men and it’s my hope that they are received by my readers with as much enthusiasm and support (if not more!).

Everyone grouped up according to the directions, and Maddie took off her boxing gloves as they walked. Normally, she would’ve taken them off earlier, but she’d been too distracted.
“I’m not going to take it easy on you,” Gunner whispered in her ear.
A shiver ran down her spine at the close contact as it always did. When she and Gunner had first started their relationship, everyone at home had warned her that she couldn’t trust her emotions around him, that vampires oozed charm and allure. But she trusted him. Not just him, she put full faith in her heart and its ability to know what was real.
“Good to know. Guess I’ll have to give back whatever I get.” She kept her voice low, her eyes unblinking and never wavering from his gaze. “So bring it.” Seeing the flash of want in his eyes, a flicker she knew all too well, gave her an extra boost of adrenaline.
Within a heartbeat, he was behind her, his arm wrapped around her neck. She didn’t hesitate, swiping her right leg behind her and kicking just below his knee, which buckled. As soon as his hold loosened, she spun and thrust her palms into his chest, pushing all her energy into the attack, her left foot behind her as an anchor. Gunner flew several feet through the air, slamming into the back wall of the gym, leaving a slight dent there to add to the others previously created.
“Nice move,” Dad said, but then he suddenly cut his eyes to the other corner, and Maddie followed his gaze.
Xavier had Jackie pinned on the ground, his fangs bared and only inches away from her throat. Without thought, Maddie raced to her twin.
“Knee him in the groin!” Maddie shouted to Jackie’s mind, not slowing down just in case.
With a piercing scream that stopped everyone in their tracks, and causing two of the other vampires who were sparring with Aunt Jessica and Uncle Sam to press their hands against their ears, Jackie thrust her knee into the vampire’s privates and rolled out from underneath him, hopping up and into a crouch, one hand planted on the ground and the other straight out in front of her. By then, Maddie was by her sister’s side, and the two circled Xavier.
A tingling sensation ripped down Maddie’s spine, but before she could turn, a force crashed into her, sending her flying forward. Gunner pinned her to the ground, her face pressed into the cold floor. Unwilling to admit defeat, she remembered a recent class with Aunt Winny. Maddie squeezed her eyes shut and pulled her energy into her core, focusing it on her back, heating it to an uncomfortable temperature, sweat trickling down her forehead and stinging her eyes.
“Freaking—” Gunner jumped off her, and she flipped around to her back and catapulted to her feet in a kip-up maneuver Aunt Jessica had taught Maddie the previous week. She’d have to thank both aunts later.
From the corner of her eye—Maddie refused to lose focus on her opponent again—she noticed Jackie had Xavier on his knees in a choke hold. Aunt Jessica blew into her whistle, a toy she was overly enthusiastic about in Maddie’s opinion, and everyone relaxed and stepped away.

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Fresh out of college with an MBA and a job at a prestigious bank in the US, Rohan Rai seemingly has more than any twenty-five-year old Indian could have. But he has a different dream for his life, and a clear-cut plan to get there. A cocky workaholic determined to climb the corporate ladder as fast as possible in order to achieve his goals, he doesn’t care who he alienates on his meteoric rise to the top.

Lovecarnation – The Promise is the heart-wrenching first book of the Lovecarnation trilogy, a thought-provoking series about fate, destiny, and the timelessness of true love.

RKC Puthran lives in Dublin, Ireland along with his wife Rashmi and 7 year old daughter Natasha.
Born and brought up in India, RKC started working as a teenager to support his family while pursuing his studies. His first job was that of a salesman for a sewing machine company.
Unable to sell even a single machine even after 2 months of hard work in the hot sun, the company refused to pay him his salary and he quit. He then took up several jobs from working as a cashier in a 5 star hotel to working for a diamond merchant and in the share market.
Post-graduation, RKC joined a company in the banking and finance sector as a junior officer. Through sheer dedication and hard work, RKC rose through the ranks and managed to get an assignment in London.
He later managed to move over to London on a temporary contract banking job along with his wife for a short period before finally settling down in Dublin, Ireland with a full time job in a bank.
RKC’s intense passion for writing made him write short stories during his spare time though he never submitted any of them for publication. He however wrote articles of general interest which were published in the newspapers.
He co-authored 2 non-fiction books but he did not credit himself on the cover as he wanted his name to be on the cover of a novel first.
LOVECARNATION – THE PROMISE’ is RKC Puthran’s debut novel and the first book in the LOVECARNATION TRILOGY Series.

GUEST POST
What made you want to become an author and do you feel it was the right decision?
I was chosen to become an author.
A day in the life of the author?
Depends how famous you are. J.K. Rowling’s day as a full time author would be very different to someone like me who is yet to taste that level of success.
Advice they would give new authors?
Read, read, read. Know what’s happening around the world and observe people and events very closely. There is a story everywhere.
Describe your writing style.
Very simple and easy to read. My emphasis is more the story-telling aspect than the use of heavy words to impress critics.
What makes a good story?
Believable characters. Hero’s journey. Good twists and if possible some good lesson or inspiration from the main leads.
What are they currently reading?
Lol. I am reading a light book titled ‘Fatherhood’.
What is your writing process? For instance do you do an outline first?
Do you do the chapters first? What are common traps for aspiring writers?
Honestly when I started with the first version of my debut novel, I was all over the place. I just kept pouring my thoughts on the word document.
I randomly ended chapters so what I got finally was chapters that were very inconsistent in size (number of words).
When I did the 2nd and 3rd version, I managed to fix the chapter size but the outline was still largely in my mind and not on a piece of paper.
After reading a few author interviews and watching a few videos on writing, I realized how important it is to have an outline and a structure set up.
And that is what I did when working on the next version of the draft manuscript. It was immensely helpful and having the outline on a paper in front made writing a bit smooth.
So yes, I have learnt my lesson. For book 2 of the Lovecarnation series, I will do the outline first and plan my chapters accordingly.
Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?
It is a thin line. The 1st version of my draft manuscript had very original scenes and less drama. I was made to understand by my editor that readers do not want to read the same thing that they did in their life during the day. They need entertainment.
So for me, though I would love to be very original but since I am writing for my readers, I need to give them what they want.
And that is exactly what I have done in my book. I have managed a right balance.
My characters and the situations in my story are believable and every reader will relate to it. However I have also added enough tension and excitement that will keep the readers hooked to keep turning the pages.
What’s the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite xx?
Obviously the feelings and emotions are different so you have to depend a lot on observation, past incidents or experiences involving the opposite xxx when writing the scenes.
How long on average does it take you to write a book?
My debut novel took a long time but I intend to finish my next book sooner – perhaps in 4 to 6 months.
Do you believe in writer’s block?
Why just a writer, everyone in every field go through blocks at some point in time. I think it is nature’s way of saying, “take a break now and come back refreshed”.
