Guest Blog – A Day in the Life of an Author
Hey there –
If we’ve never met before, I’m Lisa Kessler and I write passionate, page-turning, paranormal romances. In the movies, writers tend to either lead glamourous and eccentric lives, or they’re alcoholic tortured souls, but the reality, at least for me, is much less exciting! LOL
My typical day starts with writing out my schedule for the day, pulling some tarot and oracle cards for direction and insight, and then I journal a little. By 11am I’m at the keyboard pounding out words or editing them. After lunch I usually tackle administrative tasks, like social media posts and newsletters or uploading books to retailers. Believe it or not, I spend more time doing all those things than I actually do writing new words, but the truth is if no one knows the books are available then what is the point of writing them, right? 😊
I’ve always been a Night Owl and my creative juices seem to flow much better at night, so by 9pm I’m usually back in my writing chair, knocking out more words sometimes until after 1am it just depends on how the story is flowing…
Glamorous, right? LOL
