Without Hesitation
Beyond Earth Book 1
by Talia Jager
Genre: NA LGBT SciFi Romance

Without Hesitation is set a thousand years in the future. Earth has become a wasteland. Humans traveled into space to colonize other suitable planets. Labels and stereotypes are a thing of the past and gender and sexual identity are as fluid as love as humans strive to survive. Here we meet Everleigh, the commander of her ship named Nirvana. She is under the control of an evil madman, Caspar, who keeps her family captive. He sends her to Valinor to abduct the Empress Akacia. When she arrives, she is taken back by Akacia’s beauty and when the Empress fights back, Everleigh realizes she has met her match.

GUEST POST
What inspired you to write this book?
I felt there was a need for more LGBT+ books. Not only LGBT+ books, but more than just a coming out or erotica story. I wanted to write a real story with love and people who were sexually fluid, and I didn’t want it to be a “thing.” So, I set it a thousand years in the future where people’s sexual orientation isn’t labelled, isn’t talked about, it just is.

What can we expect from you in the future?
Two more books in the Beyond Earth series. Then I’d like to go back and write more books for already released ones. In my YA fantasy series, Between Worlds, I need to write two more books. In the Gifted Teens series, I have another book to finish. Then I’d like to write second and third books for Falling for Fire and Touch of Death. The characters in both of those books have more to say. Then we’ll see where I’m at.

Where did you come up with the names in the story?
I have a name document with names that I like. I pick my favorites. I have a habit of picking names that have nicknames, at least for my main characters. In some of my fantasy, paranormal, or sci-fi books, I go to a name generator and get some ideas or a baby name website. In this particular series, Akacia and Everleigh are names that I’ve loved for a while. They were in my “name bank” waiting for the right story. This was it. Most of the other names in the story were either pulled from the document or found on the generator or baby name website.

Who designed your book covers? Streetlight Graphics. They are awesome!

If you had to do it all over again would you change anything in your latest book? At some point, I have to stop editing and rereading and just let it go. Otherwise I’ll forever be changing things, adding things, making things even better.

Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book? I always learn something. In this series, I’ve had to do some research on sci-fi things I know nothing about. Sometimes, I just have to hope that something like it will be possible that far in the future.

Do your characters seem to hijack the story or do you feel like you have the reigns on the story?
They definitely hijack. I might have a plan, but many times they’re like, “Nope, we’re doing this instead.” And I just have to go with it.

Have you written any other books that are not published?
Yes. I have a sci-fi, alien book that’s 99% finished and has been that way for years. I have many other books I wrote years ago that probably will never see the light of day. I also have many partially written books that I hope to finish someday.
