GUEST POST

Can you, for those who don't know you already, tell something about yourself and how you became an author? I am a lifelong New Yorker. I was born in New York City and have lived there for 40 years. I have an older brother and sister. I graduated from The City College of New York with an English degree. I love taking walks, shopping, and spending time with my family.

I became an author when Natasha Brooks, Founder/Editor-in-Chief of Bare Back Magazine, encouraged me to published a book. With her help and support, I published four erotic novellas. I thank her for everything she has done for me.

What are some of your pet peeves? My pet peeves are rude people, noisy neighbors, second-hand smoke and people who walk slow. I’m fast-paced, and hate when people are in my way. It drives me crazy. Loud chewing also bugs me every time.

Where were you born/grew up at? I was born and raised in East Harlem, New York. It is a predominantly Latino and African-American community in New York City. I live there my entire life. East Harlem is very urban and a racially diverse neighborhood. There are a lot of parks, restaurants, and bars. What I love the most about living in East Harlem is the easy access to public transportation. The subway, bus and Metro-North are all walking distance from my building.

If you knew you'd die tomorrow, how would you spend your last day? I’ll spend time with friends and family, and tell them how much I love them. I’ll eat my favorite soul food and write one last short story.

Who is your hero and why? My mother is my hero because she has always been there for me. She has provided me with guidance, motherly love, and supported me in every way possible. She taught me the importance of family and encouraged me to become my best self.

What are you passionate about these days? I am passionate about my health, writing, family, life and the environment.

What do you do to unwind and relax? I take a hot shower, eat delicious food, watch television and listen to classic R&B music to unwind and relax.

Describe yourself in 5 words or less!

The first word would be creative. I love creative writing and using a creative approach to problem solving. The second word that describe me is energetic. I am always on the go. I take long walks around the city without stopping to rest, and I like getting things done as soon as possible. The third word is reliable. I am often the first person my friends call for help or advice because they know I’m there for them. The fourth word is ambitious. I have a strong desire to succeed in a field that I’m interested in and do it at the highest level. The fifth word that describe me is observant. I pay close attention to people and my surroundings.

When did you first consider yourself a writer? I first consider myself a writer when I finally published my first book back in 2017. It was the validation that I needed.

Do you have a favorite movie? Yes, my favorite movie is The Godfather. I believe it is the greatest movie of all time. Superb acting and pace.

Which of your novels can you imagine made into a movie? I can honestly imagine all four of my erotic novels into movies. As a reader, I felt my erotic stories were long hip-hop erotic music videos on paper.

As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal? I’ll choose a Knight since it is synonymous with intelligence, purity and courage.
