GUEST POST

The Most Important Character to Me

One thing that was really important to me was making San Francisco feel like its own character. To me, it’s almost the most important character. I wanted people who had never been there to really feel what it’s like to live there. Beyond headlines and hype. I know there is always a lot of publicity about San Francisco but to me no one really captures what it’s like to live there. I wanted anyone who read my book to truly understand the city, both its bright side and its dark side. To see the beauty in both.

I wanted people to fall in love with the city the same way I fell in love with New Orleans when I read Anne Rice’s novels. I still haven’t been there, but it’s on my bucket list. The series will take the characters to other places, but they’ll always return to San Francisco — just like I do.
