Desire Me: Fun Facts

When I started Roman and Mila's story, I never expected it to span the course of three novellas and a full-length novel. It was a simple exercise in getting to know Roman before he appeared in Rapture. But I quickly learned that Roman's story was an integral part of a much larger story about a brotherhood of federal agents and cops who go above and beyond to protect the women in their lives. He's the glue that holds that brotherhood together.
Desire Me is the final part of his story. It's where he begins bringing his team together and forging bonds between the diverse group of men who become one big (alpha) family. So while Desire Me may be Roman's final book, we will definitely be seeing him and Mila in the future! They'll be around for quite a while, helping his team protect Los Angeles from the bad guys.
Before you dive into the book, I thought I'd share some other fun facts about the book with you.
- One of my favorite things about the series as a whole (and about this book) is the chemistry between Roma and Mila and how playful they are when they're together. Roman was a bit too serious before Mila. But even in the midst of chaos, she fills his life with laughter.
- This book doesn't have a playlist like usual. Instead, you can say it was kind of inspired by Post Malone's Hollywood's Bleeding album. Given that LA is in the midst of a gang war in this book, it was rather fitting.
- In Desire Me, you get to meet Luke Santiago, Knox Cooper, Michael Kincaid, Evan Arias, Finn Bethel, and Octavio Hernandez. With the exception of Finn, they all have their own books in the A Warrior for Her series. Kincaid's book (Fight for You) released in October. Octavio's book (Kill for You) releases in March, with the others to follow. Here's the reading order for the three interconnected series!
- Jason Ames, Tristan Riley, and Lillian Maddox (now Riley) from the Teplo Trilogy also make an appearance in Desire Me. Roman informed me I wasn't allowed to let them leave LA until Mila got to meet the ballerina. He always gets his way.
- Mila has a crush on Theo James. Mostly because who doesn't have a crush on Theo James?! But also because she's a huge fan of the Divergent series.
- Mila learns to love soccer in this book, thanks to Luke Santiago's love of the game. Roman thinks it's the shorts, but it's mostly because she thinks they look so cool using their heads to stop the ball.
- Roman (very reluctantly) gets an office in Desire Me…and it seems to come with an ungodly amount of paperwork. That may or may not be because someone paid a clerk to put their paperwork in his box just to mess with him.
- This book was unplanned. I thought I was finished with their story after Defend Me, but as I mentioned above, it turned out that his story was part of a much bigger one. In this book, he has a few pretty important missions to accomplish that are all part of that bigger story.
- I got to write a smart criminal move in this one, which I'm very excited about! When a dirty cop goes on the run, he steals a license plate from a vehicle that matches the one he's driving instead of just stealing a random one. No one ever steals one that matches the type of vehicle. It's honestly disappointing.
- Roman is a cop. Naturally, there are donuts involved.
