My Second Novel, Fay’s Wish was published in 2006 and re-released December 2019 and is available at

more about the career that has changed my life. I have been working online since 2005, beginning my

GUEST POST
Can you, for those who don't know you
already, tell something about yourself and how you became an author?
I am a proud
mother of 5 and grandmother of 4 and I own a marketing company which
I have run for over 10 years.
My journey as an
author started with a dream I had about a dress. I was unable to draw
the image, so I decided to write out the description. Once I had
written every detail about the dress, I had to write about the woman
wearing it, then the room she was in, and why she was there. This led
to other characters and eventually a story.
What is something unique/quirky
about you?
I have a stuffed teddy bear that I
occasionally sleep with when one of my grandchildren aren’t with
me.
I have a love affair with my coffee
pot, it makes my absolute favorite thing in the entire world…
coffee! When my previous coffee maker died, I actually cried and held
a small memorial service for it before embracing my new one which
sparked a new beginning.
Tell us something really interesting
that's happened to you!
Becoming a mother and grandmother are
probably the two most precious moments in my life. I have also
obtained my B.S.A.I.T. and will have my M.B.A. in June. Last
September my business manager, Cindy, and I got to meet for the first
time after knowing one another for over a decade. That experience
will probably last me a lifetime.
What are some of your pet peeves?
Pet peeves? Moving my stuff around on
my desk is probably my biggest. I tend to place things and not really
look where I laid them, it’s just always in the same place.
However, when I go to pick the item back up and it’s no longer
there. I end up searching a long time for it, which frustrates me
completely. I also do not like doing only half a job. If I agree to
do something, I want to make sure it is done right and thoroughly.
Where were you born/grew up at?
We moved around a lot while I was
growing up but all of it was in the Southern States.
If you knew you'd die tomorrow, how
would you spend your last day?
I would spend the day with my children,
grandchildren, family and friends. I would want them to know how much
they matter to me and that I love them with all that I am. I would
not want any place special just create a memory with them that would
last their lifetime.
Who is your hero and why?
I have had a lot of heroes in my life,
my dad and mom (stepmother) are the two biggest. My dad loved my mom
with all that he was and while she fought cancer, he was always her
rock. My mom is a hero because no matter how hard it got, she was
always smiling and grateful for the life she had. We know that she
had a hard time, but she would never admit it.
What kind of world ruler would you
be?
I don’t think that I would qualify
for such a position, but if I had to give an answer, I would hope to
be a fair and honest one. I would want to see everyone equally, find
a way to stop bullying and promote ways for people to communicate
with one another. My answer might seem a little naive but someone
that cares for others first should be the one to wield that kind of
power.
What are you passionate about these
days?
It has only been the last couple of
years that I took writing back up, so getting back in touch with that
part of me is something I am passionate about. My family and friends
are always something that motivates me. My clients and company are a
daily passion that I hope to always do well at.
What do you do to unwind and relax?
I enjoy puzzle games, music and taking
walks to unwind. Anything that helps me to totally disconnect from
technology.
How to find time to write as a
parent?
I could say it’s easier since all my
children are grown but there are still times that they just want
Mom’s attention. Then there are the grandbabies as well. My family
will always come first so writing takes place when the day’s work
is done and everyone is off doing their own thing.
Describe yourself in 5 words or
less!
Despite everything, I still believe.
When did you first consider yourself
a writer?
Funny enough it was not until I got the
first copy of La Roe’s in my hand and saw my name on it.
Do you have a favorite movie?
Return of the Jedi, it was one of the
first movies I saw in the theater.
Which of your novels can you imagine
made into a movie?
I was once told that La Roe’s
reminded them of a movie being played out in the first chapter, so I
would say that one.
What literary pilgrimages have you
gone on?
Just going for a walk is sometimes the
furthest I go.
As a writer, what would you choose
as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
Definitely a panther. I love the sleek
way they move, the fierceness of them, their overwhelming presence
and how they are nurturing even if it cost them everything.
