Book 1
by T.L. Pratcher
Genre: Inspirational Fiction

Dancing on a pole and prostituting herself is the only life twenty-something year old Tabitha “Tammy” Bordeaux knows. Turned out and put on display for men by her own mother at a young age, Tammy has learned how to master the sex game so she can provide a home for her two little girls.
When her pimp, Rooster, brings a new girl into what is known as the henhouse, and directs Tammy to “teach” her the ropes, things begin to change in Tammy’s life. One thing after another including a tragic death causes Tammy’s life to begin spiraling out of her control.
When she is faced with the possibility of losing her precious daughters to the system, Tammy realizes it’s time for a change and a new game plan. Will the unexpected help of a stranger be the thing to inject newfound hope in Tammy for her life and the life of her little girls or will she run to the arms of Rooster or some other pimp for salvation?
This urban tale will keep you turning the page with drama and excitement.

GUEST POST

I describe myself as conscientious, caring, down-to-earth, family-oriented, fun-loving, and passionate. I love meeting people, but I am a bit of an introvert as well. I have a background in the field of Social Work. When I am not working to Save The World, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids in front of a great meal and movie. I love a great movie! I enjoy suspense, action (Martial Arts), dramas, comedies and my new favorite, “Reality Television.” I like to read; but I struggle with finding the time to read – which is a terrible thing to admit, as a writer. My new series, “Concrete Roses” is my first book/series. A friend helped me to develop the title, which, based on the story seems to be very appropriate. The setting is in the city of Memphis, Tennessee. I enjoy writing about Urban life because; honestly, that is what I know. I am quite comfortable there. I am working on the third installment of “Concrete Roses” which may be described as a “spin-off” to the series. I am writing an independent novel as well. The motivation behind the “Concrete Roses” series stems from an idea that one can find hope in the darkest places! I can totally picture my books as movies. The characters in my books are fictional; but I think they have realistic qualities that people can identify with. My characters have unique names; I wanted them to be unforgettable to the reader. I think that my stories challenge readers to look inside of themselves as they learn about the characters. While writing “Concrete Roses Book I: Trampled” and “Concrete Roses Book II: Revived” I faced significant personal challenges that impacted my experience writing the stories. I think the challenges have made me a better writer because my characters are acquainted with hurt and pain. Therefore, my experiences and pain channeled through the voices of my characters have given their stories depth; something we can feel.
