SAVE A FOX, is dedicated to the wellbeing of rescued fur foxes, these beautiful creatures are suffering at fur farms.
Most of the farmed foxes at SaveAFox are handed to them because they are sick, injured, or rejected, and therefore a liability or of no value to a fur farmer.
Mikayla Raines, founder / rescuer and her wonderful team are passionate about what they do and devoted to making a difference.
Their purpose is reflected in SaveAFox’s
Mission Statement:
“To rescue and provide forever homes for
captive-born, non-releasable wildlife.”
Balsara Boutique will be donating a % of proceeds raised from the Balsara fox series of pieces to Save A Fox. https://www.balsaraboutique.com/shop-collections

GUEST POST
Advice you would give new authors?
Be patient. It will probably take a LOT LONGER than you think it will. I thought the world would welcome my work. Ha! (Or if I’m being piratey, a la Greenbeard, “Har, har!”) It took me YEARS before I got anything published, and more YEARS before I had anything recognized with an award. And now, years later, I finally realized the truth of the matter: write because you love it. Write the stories you love, because they won’t let you sleep if you don’t write them. Do it for love. If you do it for fame, for glory, for a sense of self or belonging, you will (most likely) shrivel up and die before any of that happens. Whatever glorious plans you have for your books, forget them. Work hard, study your craft, enter contests, do everything you can do to set yourself up for success, but then forget all of that when you arrive to write, and do it for love.
I will give you a hard-won example of what I mean. When my young adult novel, The Great & the Small came out, I had envisioned a ticker tape parade, flowers strewn on my path and the heavens opening to the sound of trumpets. Instead, there were…crickets. The silence was deafening. Broken-hearted, I took the next year deciding if I was going to quit or keep writing. I called 2018 “The Great Scouring.” It cleared me out of any old dreams of glory that were hanging about that were sucking away the joy of writing.
After my Dark Night of the (Writer’s) Soul, I kept writing, but with a clearer understanding of the perils of putting my definition of “success” into anyone else’s hands but my own. As it turned out, my book has gone on to win several awards and was recently shortlisted in the Page Turner Book Awards where it won an audiobook prize. My book is going to be made into an audiobook!!! It is a dream come true and one that seemed impossible not too long ago. I’m now working to have it looked at by the film industry. The long and the short: if you do something because you love it, the work itself will reward you. Whatever honours it receives later will be extra.
