LazLo's Dream Machines
Motorcycle Romance Collection
by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
Working at LazLo’s custom motorcycle shop is more than just a job...
Welcome to LazLo’s Dream Machines, where the motorcycles are hot—and the men are even hotter!
Some are just looking for a little romance, some are hiding deep, dark secrets. Come along for the ride...
Mercury Falling
The biker club Kerry “Mercury” Dawson joined as a teen may have lived life on the dangerous side, but
they were the first “family” Kerry ever had. Even with his new job at LazLo’s Dream Machines, the club is
still a big part of his life—until the day he crashes a motorcycle he wasn’t supposed to be riding, and
wakes up in Lucy’s emergency room.
What Happens in Sturgis
The fact that Vince avoids kissing has never stopped him from getting what he wants from women. But
now he’s shared a little too much with his new co-worker, Tori—and she’s made it her personal mission
to change his opinion. Falling for each other is NOT in the plan. After all, what happens in Sturgis, stays
in Sturgis. Or does it?
CrossOver
Vaughn’s not thrilled when his boss asks him to work on a motocross bike. But what the bike’s owner,
Gabby, lacks in height, she makes up for with her fierce competitive spirit—and mind-blowing kisses. Not
everyone wants to see her succeed on the track, though, and Vaughn’s repair skills keep falling short. Is
Gabby just not cut out for the big time, or is someone determined to get her off the race track
permanently?
Rumble
Shop owner Lazarus "Laz" Lowenstein keeps his past carefully concealed, and for good reason. When a
friend calls in a favor, he finds himself perilously close to the life he left behind—and to fledgling reporter,
Nora Carlton. Helping Nora research a story is one thing; exploring his desire for the sheltered single
mom is a definite no-no. Can Nora restore his faith in people... and love?

Many experiences influence Tracey's writing, and she has been known to undertake unusual endeavors
(such as firefighter training and learning to fly a helicopter) just for the sake of the experience. Being an
Army-trained combat medic and a "biker chick" for over 30 years has had significant influence in her
books, but even “ordinary” events have struck a chord or inspired a character or plot idea.
In 2018 Tracey returned to school to recertify as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and currently
works at various sporting and music events when she's not processing orders for the family business
(Leader Motorcycle) or working at a substance abuse counseling center.
Tracey lives in small-town Minnesota with her husband, two kids, and two cats. They are a true “soccer
family” (she even worked as a referee for two years). She enjoys downhill skiing and spending time at
the family lake place. She has also owned and operated an MC business, Leader Motorcycle, for 17
years http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/
GUEST POST
The Cool Rider (Video!) Project
In addition to writing about biker
characters and their romances, I’ve also had the opportunity to
record cover songs, as well as write and produce videos.
The Cool Rider music video is
one of my favorites. Set to my own rearrangement of the popular song
from the movie Grease 2, it tells a story: Girl Sees Guy.
Girls Wants Guy. Girl Gets Guy… Biker Style!

I thought I’d share a few tidbits
about this process from my blog posts at the time.
September
24 (6 days ‘til video shoot):
Last
week I spent a lot of time working on the script for my biker video
project. Perhaps I did it “backward.” I had an idea what I wanted
the finished Biker Video to look like, but it wasn’t until I’d
assembled the “project team” (cameraman, production assistant,
director) that I was able to finish the script.
A
key consideration was the actor to play opposite the singer. This was
not a small consideration, as I’ve never done any type of acting
(unless you count stage performances as a taiko player or singer with
a bar band) and I needed a strong “co-star.” The only logical
conclusion? I needed a professional.
Thank
goodness for the wonders of Craigslist. And for a “small world.”
Because one of the respondents was a local actor who had
coincidentally auditioned for my last project. We were already
familiar with each other, and after meeting with him, I thought he’d
be perfect for the part (secretly, I thought he’d make me look
better than I am!).
Unlike
my first video project (“The
Rose”),
I had to create the drama from scratch. (The shoot plan is broken
into three “sections”: dramatic scenes, closeup biker scenes, and
on-road riding scenes.) I’m a storyteller at heart, so that was the
fun part. And once I knew who was playing opposite me, I was able to
write the script to play on his strengths.
Last
time I did this, we didn’t stick strictly to the script—and I
thought the project was better for it. So I view this script as more
of a “framework” and I’m looking forward to seeing what this
particular group of folks will do with it!
October 2 (2 days after video shoot):
Wow. What to say about the video shoot for “Cool Rider”? I’m
still in shock… awe… exhilarated… exhausted…
I’m in awe that once again, I got a great cast and crew to work
with. Brett did double duty as manager/co-director as well as the
“uptight executive” [character]. Clint stepped in as Production
Assistant only days before the shoot when my original hire dropped
off the face of the earth, and he did double (maybe triple) duty with
that bright sunlight bouncing off all that chrome. (When my friend
Mike showed up we put him to work too!)
Mark, the cameraman, was so concerned that I like the end result that
he spent extra time going over the script in person ahead of time. It
paid off, and he got to do some fun things (from a camera guy
perspective) like shoot video in a mirror and out the back and side
of a moving van.
The “Pink Ladies” also came into the project late, and what a
great addition! I can’t wait to put those scenes together.
Then there’s my co-star, Tracy (yeah, that’s right, a Tracey and
a Tracy, who we had to dub “TC” so we’d know which of us was
getting direction). He was funny, he was sexy, he was supportive…
and because of that I had the confidence to really ACT the part
(thank goodness I didn’t have to memorize any dialogue!). For not
being an actor, I think I did okay (I worked hard to get into the
“Diva” persona) … I guess I’ll find out soon!
October
29 (one month after video shoot):
For
me, the video
shoot itself
was exhilarating, because it’s a chance to work with creative
people (I like to describe it as a creative “burst”) as a team.
Even the planning
and prep time leading
up to the video shoot gives me the opportunity to work with creative
people.
The
video editing process, however, is rather solitary. But it’s a
creative process nonetheless, and as usual, I’ve learned a lot (and
I don’t mean just the software, which I’m getting much better
at). I also discovered how weird it is to watch yourself over
and over when you’re the one making the editing decisions. (I’d
much rather watch my hot co-star!)

to a clip (MP3
format).
