Once I gave up the idea of a book deal with a New York publishing house and finding an über agent that loved my work, I decided to go the indie publishing route—and never looked back. Going Indie was a scary endeavor. On occasion things don’t work out. Books don’t sell. The genre dead ends. But luckily, indie authors can find some success due to the book blogging community, which is so incredibly supportive, like this wonderful blog.
And since I love all things supernatural, and I knew the market was flooded with vampires, fairies, angels, and werewolves, I decided to write a book with an unconventional heroine. Serena’s a sassy necromancer, who loves animals and wants to use her powers to resurrect pets and familiars.
Basically, the premise of the SHADOW MAGIC is a character-focused paranormal, with romance, mystery, and light humor about a young woman learning to come to terms with who she is, and finally accepting what she is, while trying to solve the mystery of her sister’s disappearance.

new paranormal romance mystery, SHADOW MAGIC, was published on May 1,
2020. To celebrate the release of Sherry’s new series, the Macabre
Academy, she has put together this guest post for fellow booklovers.
Writing
has always been my true passion. When I was growing up, the only
thing I ever dreamed about was being a writer. Like most authors, I’m
incredibly passionate about my work. I enjoy writing about people who
fall in love under unusual circumstances and creating vivid fictional
worlds were anything is possible. The main reason I write is because
