Set Yourself on Fire_Blog Post 2_GK Delaney
Hi, I’m Grace Kilian Delaney. Thank you for having me here today to promote my Shore Thing series, books about men in the film industry who start out living on opposite coasts of the US, and of course fall in love and move across the country to be with their beau.
I’ve lived in Southern California half of my life, the other half I lived minutes away from the Atlantic Ocean. Writing the Shore Thing Series has been a way to synthesize my East Coast roots with my West Coast lifestyle, and it’s been a fun undertaking.
My life is far from glamourous, unlike Xander’s or Quinn’s in Dancing with a Star, though I have been to the Emmys twice and have met some famous people in the entertainment industry. One, in particular, helped with the technicalities of the fire stunt in Flirting with Fire. The son of a well-known stunt performer, he described what was needed to do a full-body burn while in a harness—lots of Nomex, steel wire, and a devout crew to put out the flames. In Flirting with Fire, Tate is the lucky guy who lives to burn (I know, bad joke). Check out Flirting with Fire to read about it!
