Can you, for those who don't know you
already, tell something about yourself and how you became an author?
I’m Sarah
Mäkelä, an author of paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and sci-fi
romance. I love writing about shifters, particularly werewolves and
werecats. I wrote when I was a kid, but when a short story I wrote in
middle school won a contest for the school and then went on to the
compete in the district, that made me think harder about writing and
look into finding an agent or publisher in Writer’s Digest books
before the internet was the place to look. I had a lot to learn and
wrote more books. Eventually Techno Crazed and Jungle Heat won a
contest put on by my old publisher, and they published several books
by me until I decided to become an indie author.
What are some of your pet peeves?
It really annoys
me when people spell y’all—a contraction for you all—as ya’ll.
It doesn’t make sense and hurts my Southern grammar girl’s heart.

What do you do to unwind and relax?
I unwind and
relax by reading, going on walks with my hubby, playing video games,
and watching Netflix.

Which of your novels can you imagine
made into a movie?
I think Moonlit
Feathers would be great as a movie. It’s about a raven shifter and
a coyote shifter who must come together despite past hurts to save
the small town they care about against from a really bad guy.
