An interview with David E. Young,
Author of Looking Through History’s Window
Question: What book do you think everyone should read?
Answer: First book - The Bible, because of its story of life and redemption. It helps us understand what we are doing on earth and what we should be doing.
Second book – Les Misérables, because of the moral lesson from the Inspector. I like how he dealt with crime and punishment and eventually grace.
Question: What is your favorite genre to read?
Answer: Adventure and History
Question: Any advice you would give to a new author?
Answer: Write about the things you love. Write for encouragement not just about the problems in life.
Question: What are you currently reading?
Answer: A life Wild and Perilous – Mountain Men and the Paths to the Pacific, by Robert M. Utley.
Question: Describe yourself in 5 words or less.
Answer: I try to be a sensitive and kind person, to be respectful, and live a life as a Christian should. I like to be considered a friend.
Question: Do you have a favorite movie?
Answer: Yes! “The Last of the Mohicans”. That was one book my mom would read to my brother and me at night. Having my mom read to us each night affected my whole life, especially my love for reading and use of language. The books she chose were adventure stores such as The Call of the Wild; or history, such as books about Indian wars, biographies written for children, and Jack London’s books.
