*Book Tour & Giveaway* If The Broom Fits by Sarah Sutton-GUEST POST

If the Broom Fits
by Sarah Sutton
Genre: YA Contemporary Romance

Halloween really is the worst.

Blaire’s got to be the only person on the planet who hates Halloween. At least the only person in her small town, which practically worships the holiday. Ugh. And it doesn’t help that her super-hot ex-boyfriend, Lucas, is determined to convince her otherwise by making her take part in “festive activities.” Apparently carving pumpkins and watching scary movies is going to magically change her mind about the holiday? Yeah, right.

But Blaire has never told anyone the truth of why she hates Halloween or the truth about why she broke up with Lucas. She’s definitely never told anyone about how much she second-guesses that decision. Being around him is so much harder than she thought, especially when it looks like he's starting to move on.

And when she gets a letter in the mail from someone who broke her heart, can Blaire overcome the negativity drowning her? Or will her bitterness and secrets push everyone she loves away?

GUEST POST

Ten fun questions about IF THE BROOM FITS!

  1. What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
I loved detailing the fall elements! I haven’t written a book in the autumn season as of yet, and I found it so fun to describe the colors, the atmosphere, and just bask in it! Absolutely my favorite season in general, and it quickly became one of my favorites to write!

  2. Do you have any side stories about the characters?
I write a lot of side stories about characters, but I don’t think I’ve got one in mind yet for this little group! I may need to brew something up…

  3. What did you edit out of this book?
Ooh, actually not a lot got cut from this story! More so that a lot was added to it. However, there was one scene where Blaire is sitting by a river and Lucas comes and sits next to her. They have a heart to heart and it’s cute, but the way the story ends with them is SO MUCH BETTER!

  4. What is your favorite part of this book and why?
I love the last chapter before the epilogue. This is the scene where Lucas and Blaire finally come head to head and lay everything out there. THIS is what replaced the river scene. Like I said, so much better!

  5. Can you tell us a bit about the main characters?
So, Blaire is you’re average teenager who’s been through a lot of hardships. Her mother passed away, her father left her with her grandmother, and she’s struggling to come to terms with the idea that even if people love you, they can leave you. That’s really what rocks her world, and makes her pull away from those around her. She’s a bit bitter—I’ve actually styled her after me a bit, in that regard—but seeing her character evolution is very interesting!

  6. How long did it take you to write this book?
I actually wrote this book in a month! Crazy, right? Of course, editing and revising took wayyyyy longer, I drafted this book last year in October. I thought it’d be the perfect month to write a fall romance!

  7. If this book were made into a film, who would play the lead?
OOH, I love this. I could definitely see Dove Cameron playing Blaire and Robert Sheehan playing Donnie, her best friend. As for Lucas…I’m not quite sure!

  8. Did you make a playlist for this book?
I did! I’ve got a few songs on it, but one that really stands out is “Never Really Over” by Katy Perry. Absolutely perfect for this story!

  9. What was the hardest part to write?
It was so stinking hard to make Blaire bitter, but likeable. In my first draft, my readers weren’t fans of her. They weren’t rooting for her. She was a bit too snarky, too rude—having to dial that down without dialing it back completely was a bit of a struggle for me at first. However, I like to think I nailed it in the end!

  10. Can we expect anything more from you in the future?
Yes! I’ve got another winter romance coming out in January 2021. It’s about a girl, Adeline, who’s struggling with guilt over her father’s death. She feels like it’s her fault, and it doesn’t help matters when she’s paired with Vincent for a school project, especially since his family is connected to the accident that claimed her father’s life.
Okay, not the best blurb, but I’ve got time to work on it! ;)
